Gauteng Schools Neck and Neck at Top 10 Athletics Meet

The Prestige Top 10 athletics meeting was held on the 20 February 2014 at the Pilditch Stadium. 12 KES athletes were entered and each athlete participated in a maximum of two events with their best score of one of the events counting towards their schools overall total. Only the best 10 athletes’ scores count. Thereafter all 10 are totalled to have a cumulative score.

A relay team then must also be entered from the athletes that are participating.

Relay (only 1 x team could be entered from the Top 10 athletes sent to the meeting, King Edward VII entered an U17 team which was placed 1st).

  • J Edwards 960 points for 100m hurdles 14.27s U14
  • M Shabangu 1064 points for High Jump 1.80m U14
  • T Letsoalo 917 points for U15 100m 11.49s U15
  • P Duvenage 1034 points for Shot Put 17.15m U16
  • P Duvenage 1133 points for Discus 54.54m U16
  • M Ntlumayo 952 points for 800m 2.00.33s U16
  • E Despotakis 950 points for 400m 48.94s U17
