The Kearsney 1st team travelled to Pietermaritzburg to play St Charles for the final game of the season.

The Kearsney team began the match well and slowly pulled ahead, being consistent on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor.

Going into the second half, being up four points 27 – 23 with Kearsney beginning to hit their straps, the visitors were penalised which severely broke their rhythm of play.

St Charles capitalised on this and hit back, scoring consistently well from the foul line. Kearsney were in a deep hole after St Charles scored eight unanswered points, but fought back to score the final three pointer of the game, which narrowed the final score to three points.

For St Charles Kensy Mkhabele scored 27 points with 11 of them coming from the foul line, while for Kearsney Albert Ojo scored 20 points with Kane Zagar contributing 12 points.

The final foul count was 27 for St Charles with 12 for Kearsney.

St Charles win 58 - 55 Kearsney
