Promising Golfer Jessica Shurety Joins KZN Trials

Westville Girls’ High School is proud to have a learner like Jessica Shurety. Jessica is in Grade 9 learner and has keen interest in golf. She started playing at the age of 7 and has never looked back. Jessica practices at the Westville University Golf Range with her coach Alf Hopf and assists in coaching junior golfers on weekends. Her father Robert is her biggest supporter and is by her side at every practice and competition.

in 2010, she was placed 1st in The Junior SA Classic and 2nd in The Junior SA Open.

Jessica is currently a member of the Royal Durban Country Club Ladies A team and leads the Westville Girls’ High Golf team. Through her dedication in mastering the sport, Jessica has achieved some outstanding results: in 2010, she was placed 1st in The Junior SA Classic and 2nd in The Junior SA Open. She recently competed in the SA Championships for players aged up to 18 and was placed 2nd provincially and 8th nationally. Her goal is to represent the Springbok team by the time she is 17. She has recently been selected for the KZN trials and will be competing in many upcoming tournaments.
