The Ajax Cape Town duo of Brandon Petersen and Abbubaker Mobara has been called up to the Bafana Bafana squad to face African giants, Ivory Coast in this weekend’s Nelson Mandela Challenge.

Petersen will join Jackson Mabokgwane from Mpumalanga Black Aces and Dumisani Msibi from SuperSport United as Shakes Mashaba’s shot-stoppers for the match.

The MultiChoice Diski Challenge afforded Petersen a platform to get some much needed game-time as the 20-year-old looks to break into the Ajax Cape Town first team.

He recently spent 11 days with Ajax Amsterdam where he trained with the Jong Ajax side as well as with the first team, while also featuring in a few friendly matches.

Mobara is in line to make his national team debut after delivering some excellent performances for Ajax Cape Town at the start of the 2014/15 PSL campaign.

The 20-year-old defender has helped Ajax get off to a good start to the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season where they occupy second place on the log.

Petersen and Mobara will join up with their teammates later this evening after their training session with Ajax.

Congratulations to our Warriors for their well-deserved call ups to the South African national team and good luck to the entire Bafana Bafana squad against Ivory Coast.
