Youth Football at Its Finest to Play in Engen Champ of Champs Tournament

It was a dramatic close to the 2014 Engen Knockout Challenge in Cape Town as ASD Academy lifted the winners’ trophy in the final leg of the prestigious tournament on Sunday, 24 August and in so doing qualified for the much awaited Champ of Champs showcase.

With this performance, the Cape Town side have confirmed their place and will be joining Durban’s Amazulu FC Academy, Port Elizabeth’s PE Sundowns, Bloemfontein’s Harmony Academy, Gauteng winner’s Supersport United Academy and Gauteng runners-up Bidvest Wits Juniors at the inaugural edition of the Engen Champ of Champs in October.

The new addition to Engen’s youth development programme will have the six qualifying teams go head-to-head from 10 – 12 October where they will fight for the coveted title of being crowned the first ever Engen Champ of Champs.

The three-day tournament is set to take place at the Pimville Stadium, Soweto as Supersport United play host to the all the regional winners of the Engen Knockout Challenge tournaments.

With much excitement, the media draw for the Champ of Champs will take place on 2 September at Supersport, The Garden, Studio 6 where the qualifying clubs will be drawn to establish the tournament’s match sequence.

All are invited to join and witness Youth Football at its finest as regional champions come together to do battle for the ultimate prize of being crowned the best of the best at the first ever Engen Champ of Champs!
